Key Stage One Screening
This level of assessment does not provide a diagnosis of dyslexia
It gives an indication of the risk of dyslexia, but is not a diagnostic assessment. It provides information about learning skills and current attainments along with brief recommendations to support future learning.
What is involved?
Reading, writing and spelling skills are assessed along with underlying verbal ability and some of the skills required for learning. Information is also collected about the student’s background and learning history.
How long does it take?
This is a less intense assessment and takes up to 90 minutes. Breaks can be taken at suitable points.
What is in the report?
A short report is provided summarising results, risk of dyslexia and brief recommendations.
Who can be assessed?
This screening service is for 5 – 6 year olds who are demonstrating difficulties with literacy skills.
How much does it cost?
The fee is £200 and includes a post-assessment consultation to discuss the outcomes.
